The Canine Touch evolved naturally from the work Dr Ivana Ruddock had been doing with horses and humans. The technique and principles are similar to those of The Equine Touch, however the procedures have been adapted to take into account the physiological and bio-mechanical differences between the species.

About Dr Ivana Ruddock

MVDr. Ivana Ruddock is a qualified veterinary surgeon. A former researcher in small animal immune systems, she went on to teach practical anatomy in the Veterinary University in Brno .

Driven by the feeling that there was something else out there, she found herself gradually turning to the alternative and complimentary side of animal health care and began by studying homeopathy for animals.

At the suggestion of a veterinary friend, she attended a foundation Equine Touch clinic with Jock Ruddock. Intrigued by the results that such a simple modality could achieve, she immediately went on to learn the human Vibromuscular Harmonization Technique (VHT).

The magic between the pair was instantaneous. After marrying Jock in 2000, she joined him in teaching The Equine Touch throughout the world. Her passion and drive for knowledge and research has helped to take The Equine Touch to its position today as one of the most respected and recognized disciplines in the world.

Since early 2000, Ivana has personally developed and researched the Canine Touch, taking into full consideration the anatomy, genetic behavior and soft tissue peculiarities of the dog.
